Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! Thank you for taking the time to stop by. Let me give you the latest updates after a busy summer. In June, I traveled to Dahlonega to visit churches and indivuduals who support my wife Rosemary and me. It was a blessing sharing with my brothers and sisters in Christ about what the Lord is doing here in Ambato and in other parts of Ecuador. Sharing with the children in VBS was also a special highlight for me.
After returning to Ecuador, Rosemary and I were invited to celebrate the 4th of July with Steve Thompson and a group of volunteers from Florida. We celebrated with hamburgers, hotdogs, and finished with a fireworks show, Ecuadorian style. A few days later we travelled to Guayaquil to visit my mother-in-law, Gloria, and some of our friends and brothers and sisters in Christ there. We spent two weeks there visiting and working on some projects at Gloria’s house.
We made it back to Ambato but we didn’t even stay a full day before travelling to Latacunga to work with a medical mission team. I helped translate for one of the doctors while Rosemary worked with the opthamologist guiding patients to where they needed to go. Over 1400 people received medical attention during the 4 days of the clinic but, most importantly, over 1400 people heard the Gospel preached and many came to faith in Jesus Christ.
In the first week of August we took some of the pre-teens from the children’s ministry at Huachi Chico Baptist Church on a hike to a waterfall. It was an hour-long drive and a half-hour hike but it was well worth it for the beautiful sights of God’s creation and the smiles of the children as they enjoyed everything we did even in spite of the light rain that fell.
After so much travel, we only had a short break before Rosemary was back at work and I was preparing Bible studies and for new English classes. It truly has been a busy summer, but a blessed summer. Now we are looking forward to what the Lord has in store for us in the coming days, weeks, and months ahead.
Continue to pray for us that God would open doors for us to share the truth of His Word with those who so desperately need to hear the message of the Gospel and receive the salvation that can only be found in Jesus Christ. The Lord has recently given us opportunities to visit families going through difficult time and share the hope of the Gospel with them. Pray that the Lord would continue to give us to share His love with others.
